Attorney Michelle Wilson’s innovative approach ensures a family’s values are shared with the next generation
Our firm was called Wilson Legal, PC beginning in 2008, but we have entered a new chapter and are rebranding to become Love Legacy Estate Planning. Attorney Michelle Wilson was motivated to change the firm’s name because she wants clients to share their “Love Legacy” with their families, to go beyond the documents and convey the why behind their choices.
“Most estate plans are legally complete but emotionally empty,” said Michelle Wilson, founder of Love Legacy Estate Planning. “When someone passes, their family is left to interpret documents that never explain the reasoning behind them. That leads to false assumptions, misunderstandings, and sometimes conflict at the worst possible moment. I’m rebranding my firm to show clients there is a better way.”
The evolution to Love Legacy Estate Planning is itself a story of legacy. Before undergoing surgery, Wilson wrote a book of letters to her daughter called So I Can Love You Longer: A Mother’s Message to Her Daughter. It included everything she would want her to know, carry, and hold onto if she did not survive the procedure. The experience made personal what she had long observed professionally: that the most valuable thing a parent can leave behind is not assets, but understanding.
“I realized that what I had written for my daughter was exactly what my clients needed the chance to write for their children,” she said. “The legal plan protects them. The heart message connects them. Both matter.”
